Well, one can hope that doesn't happen in our lifetime. I found that article to be a good read. They even have a documentary on it.

On the movie, The Road, that seems to be what happened. What is described on the movie is a world with increasing cold temperatures and little sunlight. Now, for some reason, the decline in civilization sparked uncontrollable fires.

That world is so horrible, you'd just have to suck it up and take it as a fact of life. Basically, death would just be something as common as getting a cold.

If the world went to shit. I don't know how I would react to it let alone handle the long term effects. Even if I survived the main event. I don't know how that would affect my mental health. In stressful situations we even surprise ourselves. We think we know ourselves. But than we find ourselves doing things we thought we would never do.
