What is it about forums that makes you go to them? WHat do you gain from being a member of a forum or even running a forum, other than the the potential revenue from owning a forum.

For myself, I go to forums for the sense of community, speaking to people with a common interest whilst I run forums as I can create a forum based around my beliefs and run it how I want.

Same reason. We get to know more people and suggestions from people who has the same interest! Its nice to be a part of a community, I always enjoy being a part of forums!

I like being part of the community and you can pick up a lot of extra information. For example here on WGBB I found out that people pay a lot of money for backlinks at the bottom of your front page for a high pr site- I may now be able to apply that :)

I join forums so I can share my opinions with everyone and generally post about, I prefer posting on forums more in my genre and I quite enjoy posting on friend's forums as it's always good to help friends out. :)

I also enjoy Moderating forums as it's good to have everything organised and clean, I tend to put most of my time into my Moderating jobs before visiting other sites with one or two exceptions which I will most likely do at the same time. :)

I got into forums because most of my mates are idiots and all immature. I found places like this were available to me to have some mature discussion because I have always been more mature than them.
