There are multiple ways to create websites and using Content Management Systems is one of the most common ways. In my opinion, CMS are better platform to build websites. That’s because
You can easily publish and update content without any need for technical expertise.
CMS are SEO-friendly so, search engine ranking becomes easier when your website is built with CMS.
You can create any kind of website you want, including blogs, forums, online stores, etc. You can create an online store on any website with the integration of plugins, converting a regular website into an online store.

CMS are good for building websites if your website primarily focuses on managing content like blogs. You can launch your website faster with the help of templates and plugins as you don't have to know many technical things but if you want to build web apps and custom designs then you have to code or use a no-code website builder.

I think it really comes down to what sort of website you are building or wanting to create. Some people prefer top work from scratch and do their own work with coding.

Some people do say that CMS are not good, for me it does. All depends on professionalism, CMS like wordpress can be used to power 87% of any site. The only thing is that CMS might make a site a little bit heavier than those pure coded sites. But it helps a lot due to things like plugins, add-on, and so on and so forth. CMS will save you some stress if your an owner who is really capable or pro at frontend cause it gonna ease takes for you at the back by getting things done with just clicks.

But all depends individual satisfaction.

One of the main reasons why people like using CMS is they are either free or even if you want ti use premium CMS, they are cheaper than building a website form scratch. It takes time to code a website but you can launch within 10 minutes by using wordpress, joomla, drupal, phpbb, etc.
