Normally a condo unit is in the city which is near the place of work while a house is usually in the suburbs that you have to travel for more than an hour to your place of work. The condo, however, is more expensive than the house whether you are renting it or purchasing it. It seems that the condo unit is easier to sell than the house maybe because in consideration with the job so the younger people prefer the condo unit. For retirees like me it is the suburban house that is the choice.

So which is which for you, a house on a lot or a condo unit in a building?

In my country, a house can be found in the center of the capital or in the neighborhoods and the condominiums are buildings with several apartments. that are also in the center or neighborhoods. This being the case, I prefer a house that has a garden and a patio where children can enjoy, which does not exist in condominium apartments.

It depends on your way of living. If youre a busy person with a title and most of the time youre spending mush more time in an urban area(celebrity, an artist, a big time businessman etc.) I think condo suits you the best.

Hello! For a retiree like you, I think suburban is much much ok than getting into a condo. You'll be able to interact into your neighbors in suburban compared while you are in a condo unit.

A condo is usually less expensive than a free-standing house. Condos are much smaller in square footage, and maintenance is typically cheaper because you're only responsible for the interior of your home. You don't have to worry about landscaping, the roof or the exterior walls. The condo board or HOA covers those.

Undoubtedly a house. In my current country is really more convenient: no condo fees, a lot of times no electricity bills (depending on the location), no noisy neighbours playing high sound music all night long (a common thing in Latin America). If I were in my former country, I would add a house also means no unnecessary maintenance, a lot of time only done for the sake of the architects and technicians, friends of the condo administrator, as they earn big when condo maintenance is done.

I think i prefer s condo unit due to the fact that a condo unit is more closer to place of work, its also conducive, convenient and also its very easy to live in due to its natur but a house is very far but on a long run if am done with work i think house would be better.

Seriously speaking, both are useful and serve their respective purpose. You wouldn't want to stay at work for all day and at the same time you wouldn't want to stay at home doing nothing. But if both can be combined like having one's office or place of work not far from ones place of residence, it's gonna be the best. Which means I will choose condo in a building.

Condo.

I don't want the extra space that a house has (lawn, garage, etc.) and I really don't want to take care of any of it. People complain about association fees, but the cost of lawn care and other maintenance that condos don't have adds pretty quick (not to mention lots nicer neighborhoods have association fees). Condos are usually cheaper to insure and heat/cool. Usually condos are a lot closer (e.g. walking distance) to a lot more stuff, too.

For now I prefer a condo unit to a house, reasons being that.
A condo is usually less expensive than a free-standing house. Condos are much smaller in square footage, and maintenance is typically cheaper, it is much safer to live in a luxury condo than in a house! The around the clock staff, the 24/7 security, and the overall sense of community all help to make condo living a safe place to be.

I love to have my own condo unit someday but I prefer a house. There's so much more space and a homey feel if I live at the house. Besides, I believe that a condo is much more expensive even at such a small space.

I think I would rather choose house because we can build a foundation on it. I also like condo as an extension of our house if we have much money to spend. The biggest thing I ever wanted is a family to live in a house. What we called home. There is a difference between house and home.

Being a Young man I will simply prefer a house because in this age i have to do many activities and I also want to establish my business so I will consider myself more easy and peaceful in the house where I can easily plan anything for my future.

Since the condo unit is closer to my place of work, I would probably take it over a house that is not close to work. A condo will suit me because I am single and I will live on my own, there is no need for owning a house right now unless I have a family to share it with.

Well I think condos are better because it takes less space and quite easy to build. I guess a lot of people will go for the condo because of locations and more target customers. I agree with your point about being expensive too.

If you are the type of person that likes a free lifestyle and party, have fun on a beach etc then I think a condo unit is good, it is generally small and easy to manage so you can easily move in and move out but if you are the settling down type like a family man, then a house should be great. I would prefer both.

Single-family homes tend to appreciate more than condos, partly because people have a hard time envisioning paying a higher sales price for a property where they have to pay condo fees. ... The people who generally profit from condos are the developers alone. No condo fees.

Practically wise, i will choose to build or buy my own house rather that a condo. Own house is a lot safer in terms of emergency situation like earth quake and fire. But if you are planning to earn money thru buy & sell i think condo is the best.
