Where do you like to have your forum stats placed?

Personally for me, I love it more when the forum statistics is placed at the bottom part of the website. It's something that's common with most forums that I have used as it looks more professional in my opinion.

But recently, we have seen Xenforo software have the forum statistics placed at the side bar section of the forum. What's your take on that? Do you like it or it feels awkward to you?

I think that you are talking about user/member statistics? They are usually placed in the forum's home page or forum list page and users/members could see them clearly. Having it in the forum list is a good thing. I guess you are referring to widgets on the forum.

Bottom of the website. You don't want your audience to be bombarded with that stuff right when they view your forum. You want them to see the type of topic areas you have, what your forum is about. If it's about the stats, they might miss aspects of the site and forum. All the unnecessary stuff goes at the bottom of the site.

No, it's not the user or member statistics in the forum but the forum's general statistics. I personally find it weird when it comes up set up by the forum's side bar. It doesn't make sense to me at all because it impairs a lot of things in the forum's display.

My forums display stats on the footer. I did not set it to be displayed in the footer, it is by default the stat is displayed on the footer. I think Footer is a nice place to display your forum stat. Displaying on the sidebar is also good but I do not make use of the sidebar on my forums.

I feel better having at the bottom of the forum home page too. Having it there will make the main information to have a place where they can be placed on the forum. There is no point keeping it where it will be an obstruction to a lot of users that wants to access the forum.

Yeah, that's very correct on where most forums keep the stats. It is always very good to work with what your forum members are already used to because whenever you are employing a new change that is very different from what they used to experiencing in so many other communities, they might find it very difficult to adapt to the new changes. It might affect how they make use of your own community.

I prefer to see forum stats at the bottom of the forum and I had that myself with Chat Addicts and really liked that. I managed to do that using an addon which was ideal.

Most tend to keep the default of their forum software and I know with Xenforo they tend to have it on the sidebar now but I know you can move it if you prefer to the bottom of the forum.

My own forums display statistics are placed on the footer of the websites. I'm using Xenforo forum software, the stats are located by the footer of the website. I can't think of any forum I've used in recent time which the stats are not by the footer.
