When do you start the SEO work for your websites?

Well, its only recently I have started using several SEO techniques. All these last years, I was actually concentrating on the contents and no SEO work. But that really didn't work for me very well. I had like 2 or 3 websites till 2011. And obviously with no actual seo work, it didn't give me much results in terms of monetizing.

But then I started taking the SEO work seriously and started to pay me off!
So from now onwards I think its better to start the SEO work as soon as starting the websites!
What do you say?

i tend to shy away from SEO work cause it is so hyped and so many services promote and make it sound complicated. i mean i know what it is and the theory and everything its a case of where do i start

i would love for someone to produce and idiots guide explaining and showing what the admin can do themselves

I too love to do SEO, but don't know where to start , what to do..so not concentrating on SEO for now.
