When do you renew your forum license?

How long does it usually take before you renew your forum license? Do you have it renewed immediately once it expires or wait for a little while long before doing it?

What would make you to hold off on renewing your forum license for a very long time until it becomes critical to do so?

Sometimes some people disclose a subscribe because some payment gateway offers subscribe payments then you are renewing your forum license automatically or authorize bank debit or credit card debit or something like that.

I would renew my forum licence before it expires, as you could lose so many features if it does expires and this not not make sense at all, especially when you outsource those features to be done on your website.

All of my forums are built with open-source forum management systems. Therefore, I do not have to renew my license. However, when the software releases a new version, I always upgrade.
