What would you do if someone below you was paid more than you?

Lets say you have a more important job, but all of a sudden one of your co-workers is being paid more, but they are under you in terms of the hierarchy. What do you do? Go to your boss and ask why someone under you is being paid more? Do you ask for a raise?
