What to do for site's Anniversary?

One of the forums I run called Christianity Haven is having it's 8th anniversary next week! I can't believe it's been around so long and we have daily activity.

We've tried doing contests and games in the past, but members pretty much want good discussions. Is there something we can do for the members to celebrate the anniversary? Ideas please?

I think that every site has to do something for its anniversary: change the site design or logo, maybe do a contest or giwavay. I think there are many ways websites can celebrate it.

Most website that I know usually have a contest they hold to celebrate their anniversary. It's one of the ways you can actually grow more popularity and appreciate those that have been on your website for a long whole year.

I have never considered creating any even for a website anniversary. I even don't remember my website's anniversary. However, if you are running an active community you can create a special event to celebrate an anniversary. For instance, offer cash rewards for a top poster of the month, offer referral rewards, and double the credits.

I don't really do much, but there have been times where I did events with the community. And one time even put out a site redesign on the 5 year anniversary of one of my sites. You can also do giveaways, special deals, promotions etc.
