What legal steps can you take if you ever get scammed?

Scams are quite common in many places. No one is safe from scams until or unless you are aware of such scammers. So, in case if you ever get scammed by any kind of person or business organisation, then what steps can you take in order to get the scammer arrested? This can be a quite complicated process. So, what should you do?

First things first, change all of your passwords, at least the ones that were compromised. If it involved your bank or a credit card, call the card company and have the card closed, same with any accounts the person stole from. If any money is stolen, report it with local authorities and look for online support. There are people who may be able to help you get funds back too. But it's a long shot depending on how the money was taken.

There's a lot of scenarios we could run through, but if you're ever scammed, change everything, close cards that may have been compromised and so on.

Different countries have different kinds of laws. Therefore, there is no single law that applies worldwide. In my home country, when you are scammed, you will have to go to the police and report the case, police will then handle the case if the case is grave and does not settle in the police station, you will have to go to the court and file a case.

Well, it depends on where and how you were scammed. In my country, when you're scammed online, there's nothing that you can do about it. You will bear the loss of your mistake. But if you were scammed by a physical entity, you can sue them with proof of the scam.
