There might be many cases where you may need to extract data from your website, especially if you need that data in order to create a new website. This is when you may need to utilise website scraping technique in order to replicate and use data and other information. So, how can this be done? Does it require you to have technical knowledge?

To the best of my knowledge, website scraping is the process of using bots or artificial intelligence to extract data and contents from a website. When it comes to scraping your website, you go deep into extracting the underlying the HTML codes and all the data that's stored in the database for whatever use you have for it.

You can run scripts to scrape the content of sites but it's unethical IMO. Plus there's a good chance that if the site is copyright protected, you can get a DMCA claim on your site for using stolen assets. You're much better off creating your own content or purchasing themes and plugins rather than stealing resources.

Hackers use website scrapping to replicate websites, For instance, someone can scrape Bizdustry entirely and create an exact replica of this site. This kind of work is generally done for phishing. If you try to scrape data of a site that you do not own, that will be called hacking.

Yeah, that's very correct. It's always going to be in your best interest to create your own contents, buy themes, plugins and any other resources needed to build your own website from the scratch than using unethical means to do it which might end up costing you everything on the long run.
