What is the meaning of "Unbanked"?

We live during times when almost all the people use banks. We all tend to use products offered by many different kinds of financial institutions. However, an "unbanked" person is a kind of person who does not use any kind of financial instrument at all. So, are you also one of them?

I was 16 years old when I created by first bank account. It was a student bank account in the proximity of our school. My parents used to send money to my student bank account and I used to withdraw and pay fees as well as spend on my personal item. I am not an unbanked person.
