What is the ideal length for a blog post?

I have always believed that a blog post should be long. When the post is long, you can provide enough information, you can add enough primary and secondary keywords, can make users stay on your webpage for a longer duration. Search engines also favor long content. How many words do you put in your blog post?

Well, I can say that everything depends on the blog owner. There are some blogger who like to honor a specific elements when it comes to their blog post length. Some would like to work with 500-700 words as a basis which isn't bad. But for those who wants to appear unique, they usually go for 1500-2000 words post length.
