Corporate intranet may refer to different kinds of online portals that are used by many different companies. Each and every company may have their specific portals or a security system that may help them access a limited amount of information. So, have you ever heard about such corporate intranet?

So, looking at it from this angle, I would say that a corporate intranet is a private network contained within a corporate enterprise that is used to share company's data, information and computing resources among employees in a secure manner that it's not going to leak to outsiders.

I think that we can classify it as a private network. This is because this may also involve creating a private website where only the employee could gain access and I think that this is quite common in many companies. Each an every employee may have his or her own portal and this also involves creating a password for each employee.

It's exactly what I thought it to be because we have the same kind of corporate intranet private network in the company where I'm currently working. It makes sharing and using of the company's data amongst all the staff to be very easy.
