I think that business inventory refer to the products that are in stock. However, I think that business inventory is far much more than that and far much broader than that. It may also involve other kind of merchandise a business may posses. So, what exactly is it?

Business inventory is exactly that, inventory your business has. This could be your business supplies for general work, or the supplies or products you plan to sell. It's just another way of saying your inventory.
