I think the best way to deal with them is to delete them so that people will not fall for scams of fake news that the person who created the thread has written

This is actually where the duty of your staff team comes in so that they can be able to monitor such content on your website to make sure that it is something reliable so that this will prevent your members to fall victim to misleading contents. Also, you can set such section on your forum to be on posts approval. Such contents will be vetted before they are approved.

Yes, doing research before investing your time and money in anything can save you. Now, in this digital world, we have the facility to research every topic to find out if it's usefulness or not.

If you are a user on a forum where you see fake topics, you should report it to the admin or moderator. If you are a moderator or a staff on the forum, you should delete the topic and send warnings to the users. Authenticity should be put on a pedestial on forums.

The thing is that you would have to try and use the site to know it's not real before you can have it reported. This shouldn't be allowed to get to the stage where the members will be exposed. Have the threads verified before they go live in your forum.

Fake threads on forums that provide misleading or false information about making money can be detrimental to the community and can potentially harm individuals who fall for scams or engage in fraudulent activities. If you encounter such threads, here are some steps you can take; report the thread, comment on the thread, provide evidence and sources, reach out to moderators, engage in discussions.

I can actually understand the issue of duplicate topics in a forum which is something that is very common because some people don't make use of the search tab whenever they are trying to create a new topic but it really frustrates me when someone purposely choose to post a topic with misleading information. What is usually their purpose?
