What are different types of financial institutions?

Financial institutions refer to any kind of financial organisation that may help people save money and invest money as well. Banks are one of the most popular and common kinds of financial institutions. Having said that, banks are not the only financial institutes. So, what are some other kinds of financial institutes available in different countries?

The most popular financial institutions in my country are the banking sectors. There are other financial institutions like credit unions, investment banks and companies, savings and loans association, brokerage firms, mortgage companies and insurance companies. I don't use all of them but the one's I have need for.

All of these are financial institutions and the goal is to ensure that citizens and organizations in the country have access to finance to sort out their goals. I think a lot of these institutions need fixing in countries that are experiencing financial challenges such as high inflation.

I believe that all of those financial institutions I mentioned are operational in most countries. It's just that most people are only used to banks and loan institutions because that's where they have more access to funds for whatever they needed.

There are other financial institutions like micro banks or community bank, they can save and offer loan to individuals with low interest rate unlike other conventional banks. They can also support programs aim at supporting small micro enterprises in order to increase the economy.

Insurance companies are another type of financial institution, there are different kinds of insurance companies and insurance companies are governed by the Insurance Board.
