Certified checks are the kind of cheques that may allow the holder to receive funds under all circumstances. This may mean that the recipient of such kind of cheque may receive funds. However, I am not sure if there are certain exceptions to this rule. So, what are certified cheques? Do they guarantee that you will receive funds?

Certified checks are like special checks that are guaranteed by the bank to have enough money to cover them. To get one, you typically go to your bank and request it. The bank then sets aside the check amount in your account, and the check is stamped or marked as "certified."

Banks certify checks to ensure that the amount written in the checks is available in the account to encash the checks. Certified checks are used to avoid check bounces.
