What alternative power do you use in your business?

Advertisement Placeholder
I have a couple generators, but I don't really use them much. I have them as backups if my power goes out while I'm working. But otherwise if the power goes out, I just wait until it comes back. But having generators helps when your power goes out for a long time.

As for coping with it, sometimes you just have to be patient and wait for the power to come back.

The use of solar system is what's very common in use now in my country. Even though it's a project that's very expensive because the cheapest it's going to cost to install one for you that can carry a full house, it would cost up to $1,500. I'm considering getting it for my home.

Electricity is usually a big challenge for most people in their business. There are some location in my country where they don't see electricity for months and they will still have do their business.

Do you have electricity challenges in this business? How do you cope with it?

Many people use the UPS system. It is a power back up system that enables you to generate electricity for a specific amount of time. However, it cannot last for a really long time. Many people also use the electric generators when it comes to running businesses.

UPS system are not reliable. It's just to hold on power in your PC for a short period of time. It can never be able to sustain you with running your business the whole day. It's why some people now go with installing solar system with inverters.

I hate the sound of generators. They give me stone migraines unless it's a new generator with active working soundproof. It's why I don't use them. Solar is what I make use of and it's convenient more than generators.

I can deal with the sound of generators at work but it doesn't matter much because they are not usually close to where we work. It's a bit off from where offices are located. It's at home I can't deal with the sound of generators because it's going to make it very difficult for me to sleep.

The UPS systems became more popular in my country during the mid 2000s era. This is because at that time electricity outage was a really huge problem for many people and they were looking for a solution in order to deal with this issue. However, now they are used less frequently.

From 2000's to 2023 is 23 years difference. There's no way UPS would have still being relevant today. If it did, it means our technology have been stagnant for 23 years. The use of generators is being replaced with solar system now.

You're right about that. Around here I guess I just use my power bank as my back up for this kind of situation. I work mostly with my smartphone so until I'm able to upgrade, I will just have to stick with the power bank option.

Currently, I work from home. I have a small home office. I work on a laptop, therefore, power cut does not hamper me much. However, for my wifi router, I use an alternative power supply so that my internet continues to work fine even when there is a power cut. I am thinking to install solar power.

If you need to power for only your smartphone and Wi-Fi or router, power bank will be adequate to charge them depending on the power capacity of the power bank. You will need more power if you need to charge your laptop or PC.

UPS were quite common in my country during the 2005 to 2010 era. At that time power outage was a really huge problems. Right now, the popularity of UPS has decreased a lot. This is because power outages are not that common in many rich neighbourhoods.

It's been so long I have seen UPS used in any office as a back up for power supply. The use of solar is becoming rampant and it's neat to work with. UPS power fail over a period of time. If you're sold the fake one, it won't last one year.
