Do you think that technical support board is a must have for webmaster forums?
I have seen it on several webmaster, admin & promotional forums. What are your thoughts on this?

The problem with them is, if you don't have a large community of "experts" then a lot of problems will never get solved. So, it would eventually become a bunch of new members complaining that their issue was not fixed/unable to be solved.

Yeah that is true. Or we could have atleast one dedicated member for making it work. If there is a dedicated member either s/he could help solving the issue, otherwise try to get the answer to this question by using stackexchange like websites and post it here as answer! :p

Stackoverflow is in my opinion much better then having it on forums. Like jLogan had suggested, new users to the forum will complain that issues are not being fixed, or at least fixed fast enough. With say Stackexchange, the entire community is based on experts and developers who are there to specifically help others.

If you think that adding one can promote more content and help users at the same time, then by all means set one up. I will be more then willing to offer help whenever I can.

No actually I was simply asking, I have seen this over on a lot of forums in the past. But that trend is no more I believe!
And yeah stack exchange's network of sites pretty much cover everything related to computers, then there is yahoo answers and then answers.com. The technical support section is not needed nowadays if the forums are on general niches like webmaster, promotion, admin, etc. But still in some cases it could work. For example, if the community is really friendly, people will get replies or solutions and there will be no flaming.

not to mention it will be more community involved. Getting replies back from people you would talk to everyday, which in turn can be more helpful as they might be able to explain it better through personal experiences.
