Facebook and Instagram went down recently. Some people were logged out of their accounts which they can't remember their login password or have a passport reset number or email set. They literally lost their accounts with what happened.

Did the social media outage affect your account?

When I was suddenly logged out and I could not log in, I was worried that my account was hacked. Therefore, the first thing I did was to reset the password, but Meta did not send me OTP. Then I asked my wife if she could check her facebook. When I found she also could not check her Facebook I knew Facebook was down.

If you go to reddit.com, everyone is complaining about the same thing on Facebook sub reddit. It's a very serious mess from Meta. It's going to take them a while to fix everything.

I freaked out when I couldn't get my OTP sent to me. It's a clear sign of an account hack that the hackers have changed your email or phone number linked to your account. I was glad it wasn't the case.
