Are video game shops less popular these days? Places like GameStop gets a lot of hate, so much that a lot of people skip it outright for buying their games. Now days though everything is digital, and GameStop has suffered because of it. With that being said, could a video game shop still be profitable today? I figure if you sell all games and gaming collectibles, you could make a good bit of money. But digital games are still a problem. So it really comes to selling older or retro games, and I think there's still a need for that. Do you agree?

I think the evolution of mobile games killed video game shops. I don't think there are any video game shops in my home country, there are of course video game parlors. Kids and teens frequently visit these video game parlors to play games that they cannot afford to have at their homes. Just to play games like Forza Horizon 5, these game parlors are charging as much as $5 per hour.

I sincerely believe that video game stores are in serious decline, with the evolution of technology and how profitable it is for video game publishers to sell digital games, because it is much cheaper than creating physical copies, and that buyers are also buying more digital games than physical ones, I do not see much future success for physical video game stores, but if we talk about online video game stores, it may be fruitful, we just have to look at the total success that Steam has had.

Some years ago running a video game shop we are people usually come to play video game is something that is very lucrative. But over the last couple of years with digital games becoming popular, a lot of people now like to play the video games at home. Also with mobile phone games, it affected the business badly.

I wouldn't say that video game shops are something that should not be considered as I do still see many people using them to get physical games if they don't want digital.

Video game stores do have the potential to be profitable still and I wouldn't think they would be going anywhere anytime soon.

I agree with you that mobile gaming really changed a lot with the way people owning game houses make money. It is not like before when a lot of people spend more to go there just to play games. A lot have changed now that some of these shops are now closing as we speak.

I can actually tell you that this is not really the case of most third world countries because they still value this kind of business. A lot of people are still doing it very well in my country.

There is a new gaming lounge that just opened their own business within my own Estate last month and gamers are tropping in there everyday to play different kind of games that they are interested in playing.
