Has anyone here used Facebook as their site instead of actually making a site of their own? Facebook makes it pretty easy to make a page for yourself and your business. I am considering trying to make a site through Facebook, just a facebook page, but I would like to see if it could work for me.

Do you think Facebook can overtake actual sites?

You go to visit your uncle and stay in your uncle hours for a couple of days. Do you think you can make your uncle hours your own house? The same goes for facebook. You can benefit from facebook but it cannot be your own site.

Yeah it's very possible after all there are people who also use Instagram as their site with no other website, just that I do not like to rely on one platform solely but Facebook is still more reliable than Instagram. If you feel comfortable with it then go ahead.

Facebook own page or Facebook own group is a site URL that can be accepted in some advertise and rejected for others. So the limitation that Facebook politicy is very strict and you may lose access to your Facebook account for some days due to facebook restriction. In hosted domain there is no such option as you have to pay hosting and respect chart of hoster and everything is fine.

If you want to build a professional page on the web, I think LinkedIN is a better options as this site is a platform entirely designed for professionals and the businesses.

Using Facebook as your site is a very good idea, many people does that. all you have to do is to create a Facebook page. Once you are done with that you can start posting items

I don't think its possible for facebook to overtake sites just like that , it seems impossible for such thing because there are information that are not on Facebook but are on sites

Never, that will never happen. Facebook is superior to many sites, but in terms of serious convertions, it is not the best place. Yes, it is versatile, but it will never repalce traditional sites.

I'm just thinking about creating a facebook page to use in marketing my products like foodstuffs, and fruits etc. I believe it will enable more people around my location know what I'm dealing on to increase my sales.

There are many of my friends who are selling in Facebook. Some of them have their own Facebook Page that serves like a mini website. But some others just do the marketing on their timeline with the captive market among their friends. For a small business I think using Facebook can save you the money and effort of creating your own website. The only advantage of having your own website is the monetization.

Plenty of businesses make use of Facebook pages but these tend to be local trades people and businesses that benefit more from word of mouth rather than a large scale business. I think it can be a good thing to at least start off with as it takes very little time to get going. The only issue is that you put all your eggs in one basket so to speak, so if you don't have a website you're at the mercy of Facebook with what happens to your content and brand image.

Yes I think you can use Facebook as your site by building a Facebook business page. I have seen so many people doing this. You can start from this level before getting all you will need to then build your own site

Mark Zuckerberg is trying so hard to be in total control of things, but I do not think he will succeed in that aspect. I can't imagine having my site on Facebook. It doesn't make sense.

that's true and it's free as well, but you are always limited to what facebook is giving you, also, having your own website has its own benefits too, for example, you are able to monetize it (you can still monetize facebook pages too, but that one is much easier)

seriously yes it may take a good stand than site to some extent. Facebook has been one of the most influential social media this days due to it wide rate of participation by number of people around the world and many has used it as a marketing platform for their product.

You can still use your Facebook profile as a website, but the layout and look is more casual. Set up your Facebook page with your name or the name of your business. To make your Facebook page URL even more like a website, go to the Facebook username setup page at facebook.com/username and choose a custom username.

I think using Facebook as a sites for business is a good business agenda entirely you get to post things message people get more friends to see your contents .

Facebook is one that we must give accolades to, it I really tried to unify the world and succeeded in Making the earth a global village indeed. Using them as a major browser is not a bad idea. It only provides more avenue for one to get additional features and keeping friends closer.

I can't ascertain using Facebook alone as mu. Main site for communicating with people and advertising my stuffs that i really want to gain online presence. I just love to visit forums and advertise through it than facebook and twitter, instagram.

You can use facebook to build your brand, connect with your customer, use as a customer support, promote products. However, you need your own website
