Camphor is a very popular thing in Indian homes and it smells so good that it can be used to make our rooms or rest rooms smell good and that will save us from buying expensive room fresheners.

The air fresheners here are not too expensive too, but I agree with you that the use of camphor is better when you are trying to save cost. Camphor is also a better alternative for use for fabrics in bags, unlike air freshners, which have some limitations at that point.

Unfortunately, this camphor is something that I don't like how it smells at all. My mother use to have it inside her box of clothes. She says that it prevents ants from entering the box to damage her clothes. I can never use camphor as an air freshener.

There are other alternatives to camphor that we have now, but few years ago, it is more like the only option that one can use to ensure that they get it right with controlling the smell in a room and a lot of people used to make use of it then too.

Personally, I never care about using camphor years ago. It's all about how they smell which I never liked at all. Even though they are cheaper, I couldn't stand the smell. This is what made impossible for me to make use of it. They even have some colored one's today unlike the only all white that used to be what we know years ago.

Parents always thought about saving cost, and that could have been the reason for getting camphor back in those days. I can't even blame them for deciding to spend less in getting an option to make the home a bit comfortable.

Yeah, that's very correct. My mother did the same thing and there's nothing you're going to tell her that's going to change her mind from having those camphor in her clothes boxes and some part of the house. I do agree that it works very well in chasing away ants and cockroaches.

I've never used camphor as air freshener. I've seen it where they are sold in the market and some shopping malls but they are not something I would like to put in my house. Kids might swallow it if you've kids around your home.

It is very true that such scented camphor can be a threat to children if they ended up swallowing it. This is the reason why if you are making use of camphor, you should dispose or drop them in a spot where children will find it impossible to reach them. They will not be able to swallow the camphor if they don't have access to it.
