This is sort of misleading but an element of truth is there. Well, nothing is unlimited, however, things are set up to where most reasonable people cannot abuse things. It would be like some "all you can eat buffet" that only Homer Simpson could abuse ;).

Anyway, on a free unlimited site I'm using, there's something that can go into overload and end your hosting, but it's not the bandwidth or disk space. However, shouldn't they be more upfront about it?

I know more and more major hosts are going forward with clarifying server and data usage, on their terms of service pages. Heck, I have seen a couple put a small info box on their order pages to try to get more people to read the info on not over using hardware, data and the like. I do agree, they should be more upfront about it. Plus even if they are upfront about it, most people I know will skip reading through the TOS completely, as they think that they know enough to know what is supposedly expected of them.

Unlimited hosting isn't true and most people know that I mean how can you get 2.5TB or more and that's me wishing. When you check your server resources it says for me anyway just over 900GB of space and I used 30GB. Yet keep in mind that's shared servers.

The overload part can be the CPU usage meaning if you go above 80% or more then RIP

It's tough to say if the language isn't lying or not. In other words, it says unlimited, but it really means that, generally speaking, an average user will not overload. For instance, a buffet seems unlimited, but people's stomach's can't abuse the situation generally.

The popular hosting forums I know about have rules that you cannot post offers that say unlimited. The reason they say that is to draw the consumer in. Unlimited bandwidth is the easiest thing to give for free because most people don't barely use anything. If a host offers unlimited disk space though I can see them putting limits on your account when it gets to a certain point. So the best thing to do is not to get anything unlimited. I always get a set amount of everything given to me when I buy hosting.

Well, I think people would see the scam if that was true. How could they even stay in business?

There is no such thing as unlimited hosting. Hosting companies just try to get more members, by making use of these keywords. As far as I know, all the resources will have a limit and you just have to look for the information first.
Even the number of concurrent connections per second can be limited. If you really need large disk space, then you need to host your own files in your own server. Not many people will have to go to such lengths though.

I just wonder even if it would existed, who would need unlimited hosting, you should have maybe the database of the whole information of a planet or a galaxy :)) it was just funny to think about it.

I use a hosting package that allows me to host unlimited websites. technically speaking, I can host as many websites as I want, however, when I actually start hosting more websites, I will also exceed bandwith and make my websites go offline.

There is no form of hosting service which is actually unlimited as there's always a cap attached to it no matter what so I would say that these hosting services that are alleging unlimited are not being sincere with their customers or clients.

If you check ipage, namecheap, or hostgator, you can find that they are offering hosting packages that offer hosting of unlimited websites. However, I don't know ho reliable are these hosting packages.

I have also taught of it before. I knew that there is nothing like unlimited. They will promise unlimited storage and bandwidth. But the space of there computer has limit. How will now they give unlimited

Unlimited hosting package is good for you if it happens that you have lots of website which you are managing. You can also receive unlimited hosting to little website builders.
