Travel forums are not that easy to run I think these days it is been monetize, but the best is blog, but they are all very difficult to manage, you start making profit from your blog when it's popular, but before that you need to finance and maintain the blog everyday by posting current news, information, entertainments and so on

I don't run travel forums not I know anyone that is to travel forums, but based of what I've been reading on the internet so far. Running a travel forum is not such a bad idea I think it can be easily monetized it has to be popular though because a lot of people travel and need information on places to visit and places to stay so the idea is quite alright.

I sometimes go to travel forums and blogs when we would go abroad to a country for the first time. When we needed a visa for South Korea we got information from a travel blog which has a complete step by step guide. For sure you can also get that information from a travel forum. In gathering membership the issue in a travel forum is that not all members are travelers so sometimes there would be a conflict between a traveler and one who has not traveled but is depending only on the search engine.
