Who would you consider to be the top scientist of all time, with the biggest contribution to our understanding of the world?
For me:
1. Louis Pasteur:
Discovered the principles of vaccination, microbial fermentation and pasteurization. He's probably saved a lot of lives!
2. Ernest Rutherford:
Probably the greatest New Zealander ever (although NZers don't think so). He created the model of the atom (which is huge!), worked out radioactive half-life and he split the first atom. He is considered the father of nuclear physics.
For me:
