What do you think is a reasonable amount of colors to have on a website? Can there be TOO much color?

I think that it depends on what the niche of the site is. If it's kid related, it definitely could go wild. But if it's a professional business, I think that one strong color and two or three muted ones would stand out the most instead of an eye attack of rainbow.

Colours should align with your brand's identity and purpose of the website. A well-thought-out colour scheme can enhance the user experience, while excessive or clashing colors may distract or confuse users.

There is one particular website that I have been on some years ago which I can't even remember the website name right now, the moment I joined the website, I was so irritated with how colour was used on the website because he was too much.

I have seen some website owners using too many colors on their websites. I do not like colorful websites. The maximum I go is with three colors. I use a white background and black letters. I use light colors for the header and footer and dark color for headings and menu.

To be very honest with you, making use of too much colour on any kind of website is something that is always going to be messy to the eye in a way that it is not going to be enjoyable looking at the website and not even to talk about doing anything on it.

Most bloggers or website owners this applying varieties of colours on their website will make it look captivating to the audience but this is always a wrong approach because most times it keeps people away from revisiting the website.

Using too much colour on your website can never be captivating but rather it is going to make your website looks like a complete joke or something like what a child designed. It is definitely going to be uninteresting in the face of your members.

I believe that visual harmony on a website is very important to make your website attractive in the eyes of users/visitors, too much color may not really be very attractive, plus it is said that the first impression is what counts, and excess of color can give an unsightly image of a website.

I think having your logo color be one or two colors and then having 3 to 5 shades that compliment those colors is fine. Some people go overboard and it ends up looking like something from 1995.

Mehn, this is very hilarious to be very honest with you but in reality, that's the truth. I don't know what kind of eyes those who do sort of a thing use to view it because from all indication, such website with too many colours looks horribly disgusting but they seem not to see it.
