The world could get its first trillionaire within 10 years

DAVOS, Switzerland (AP) — The world could have its first trillionaire within a decade, anti-poverty organization Oxfam International said Monday in its annual assessment of global inequalities timed to the gathering of political and business elites at the Swiss ski resort of Davos.

Oxfam, which for years has been trying to highlight the growing disparities between the super-rich and the bulk of the global population during the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting, reckons the gap has been “supercharged” since the coronavirus pandemic.

The group said the fortunes of the five richest men — Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Bernard Arnault and his family of luxury company LVMH, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Oracle founder Larry Ellison and investment guru Warren Buffett — have spiked by 114% in real terms since 2020, when the world was reeling from the pandemic.

Interesting to read that someone might become the world's first trillionaire, regardless of who is slated to potentially be it first. Anyone have any ideas on who might get the spot?

My guess, would be either Elon Musk, or Jeff Bezos might get the spot, if their individual endeavors keep pulling in money.

I imagine someone like Bill Gates or some major tech mogul will land the first trillion dollars. As for who exactly, I couldn't tell ya, but I'm going to assume it'll be someone who's already massively rich and just builds it up so much that it reaches a trillion.

Well, I think that there are already trillionaire people in the world but they are not public people, Elon Musk is a visible face and is listed in Forbes, for example, the main central bankers who control the economy are trillionaires if they want because they can print the money they want.

Don't you understand what I mean, do you know the Federal Reserve of the United States? Do you know the European Central Bank? Who thinks they print fiat money? Where do the banknotes that you use day by day come from and that are backed only by trust towards that central bank or government or in the best of cases in debt? There are central entities that print money without prior notice, where do you think inflation comes from if not?

On the other hand, fiat money today is generated virtually or rather electronically, and they are the owners of fiat money and can issue as much as they want, just look at the stimulus checks received during the Covid pandemic or the same with the ERTEs in Europe which are one of the main factors that have submerged us in the inflationary crisis we are experiencing.

Yes, I understood what you were saying, but the OP talks about trillionaires, and I said that I'm not surprised that there are trillionaires because the most powerful bankers can issue money without having to do anything for it, so there really are trillionaires in this world that neither you nor I know, they are in the shadows.

I think NVIDIA chief would be the first trillioner. Currently Jensen Huang's worth is $110 billion and his company's worth is 3.11 trillion dollars. My assumption is based on how rapidly the AI tech is glowing and NVIDIA is a chip maker for AI powered devices

I didn't know that person, I guess it could be true, Nvidia has grown too fast, plus it has been in the microchip market too long, which must have also left incredible profits.

Since AI market is growing rapidly and all devices with AI tech need advance chip, I believe NVIDIA and its CEO will continue to build wealth. Interestingly, NVIDIA CEO and AMD CEO are relatives.

Thanks for the info, I guess these tycoons will continue to get richer and richer with all this AI stuff, as we are only at the beginning of this revolution.
