When I first started working on my goals, I thought success was all about reaching the big outcomes—getting the most followers, launching a popular forum, or seeing my community thrive. But lately, I’m realizing that just focusing on the final result can actually distract me from what really matters: all the small steps that get me there.

Instead of obsessing over how popular the forum is or how many posts we have, I’m trying to ask myself different questions. Like, am I creating a welcoming space where people feel safe to share? Am I making small, consistent improvements to keep things running smoothly? These might not seem as exciting as hitting big milestones, but I’m learning they’re the foundation that leads to a stronger, better community.
  • Are there goals you’re working on where focusing on the “journey” might help?
  • What small steps are you taking to create conditions for your own success?
  • How do you stay motivated when it feels like the big results are still a long way off?
