I am creating a front-end for input / output / editing of multiple different tables. Is it a good practice to ask the structure of the table directly using DESCRIBE and use it to create corresponding HTML tables and input forms? I am considering using the comment field to encode validity rules for individual fields.

Sometimes you need to generate tables from the database then using the architecture from the table from DESCRIBE is not recommended for this way, it is recommended for static tables.

When i have used table in a code the one thing that i do is that i save it as a matrix because that way it is a bit faster to read and easier to extract data as well.
