Surprise or bucket list?

Now a lot of people want to receive only what they have planned and create such a wish list, but as far as I am concerned, it will not be a gift at all and will have no effect. I like it better when it's a surprise and I don't know what I'll get

I do not like surprises, I would like to have something that I would find useful and interesting. For instance, I do not read manga, what would I do with a manga book as a surprise gift?
