Would you hire somebody who has bad spelling or similar?

They may be one of the best staff members in the world but I know that people get infuriated at people who cannot 'type' correctly without a good reason. I certainly wouldn't want my staff members to be linguistically and grammatically correct anyway as I want my members to be able to understand them!

What about you?

Staff members making posts with text type, shouldn't be encouraged. Some people simply don't like that in professional forums or blogs, while some people don't simply understand their meaning. I mean not all members are from english speaking countries, so abbreviations and text types will be alien language for them. If staff members start to post like this, these members will find it hard to stay on our forums and will eventually leave!

I think you have to forgive bad spelling and grammar when there is a reason i.e. when a staff member is on a mobile device but other than that, staff should have a good command of English. :)

It is my belief that a staff member must always be crystal clear in their posts. I'm not just limiting this to spelling but rather when it comes to explaining the guidelines, or any other staff related task. If its not made clear the first time, odds are that you are going to have someone (a wise guy) mess up, and say oh it wasn't clear.

It also reflects on the board, as a whole. If you have a staff member that is using text speak, or bad spelling... well, people are harsh, and its likely that your board is going to be viewed as "run by a bunch of illiterate people" nobody wants that.

It doesn't bother me when they spell it wrong as long as I can still understand it.

wat boters me is when people talk like tis and dun no how a staph shud talk.

wel i tink wen staf membres donut tlking will et efects thyare jobe den i cn hlp dem lrn 2 spll ass ime a mstrr typr. i men ef u cnt speel gud aderal thn u r gun na geet duh butt cuz i cayunt hve dum basses onn mai shite.

If a member has bad grammar they would instantly be off my "new staff radar"(patent pending).. heck I discourage regular suers using text speak so why would I allow them to become staff?

I can live with a few spelling errors here and there, but severely lacking spelling and grammar WILL cause you to be removed from my forum team. I have no tolerance for it.

What if I start doing packages in l33t speak?

Is it chocolate?!?!? Tbh, you could accept the packages in 1337 on April Fools day but I wouldn't do them in 1337 xD
I could totally translate the templates to 1337 just for that day, for sure :p
Nah man, it's coconut flavored ;)

I thought it was funny. *pats head softly*
Thanks sweetheart, I needed that.

My translation of that shit I posted trying to be funny :':)
Well I think when staff members don't have proper spelling and grammer it will have effects on their job and they need to be told to write properly.

I mean, if you can't spell good at all then you are gonna get... the butt? cause I cannot have dumb asses on my site.

I think... I need to stop drinking...
