Should you use Free Domain TLD like .tk?

Very rarely you would come accross a forum which has a funny domain such .tk or .co.cc and so on.
Do you think its ok to have such domains at start and then move to better domain tld?

I think its not right in any case to have these free subdomains as it look awful. It kind of gives bad impression to users, that the owner is not willing to be there for longer period.
And also since domain these days are going for peanuts, why bother with free subdomains.

Such local TLDs are better than Web 2.0 addresses. Nowadays, you can even optimize the LTLDSs to compete with the Top Level Domains. All that is required is optimization of the domain names and the content in your site.

I remember many years ago I did try to use those domain extensions and it was always the same result; failure. No one ever thinks of the extension ".tk". It looks awful, and just overall bad for seo.

The fact that this TK is actually the most popular domain name after dot-com makes it a good domain name that I am considering buying a domain with them.

Actually dot tk is a free domain, which means you can use it for free, no need to pay money. If you want this domain, do to freenom.com and register the domain

Dot com is the most registered domain. After dot com the most registered domain extension is dot tk. Perhaps that is because it is a free domain extension

I did once register dot tk domain for my name. I was trying to see whether the free domain will rank on search engines or not. However, I never built a site.

We should know that once a website have that kind of domain name extension then we should know that it a free website and it can not be trusted. A person that wants to start with a free website can use such extension

I totally get your point and it makes a lot of sense but in the end it depends on the user as we all view things differently and then again the pocket of the user should be considered as well, the name might be funny but they do not have the cash to get a better one

TK domain name extension is for those who are just trying to experiment with website building it is not for the serious fellow. dot-com extension is the best if you are going to engage in business on your website.
