Google Ads Account Setup: Since Google covers a higher market share, you can do SEM on Google. However, you are also free to choose other search engines for your SEM campaign. If you are doing it on Google, register for a Google Ads account and configure your first campaign.

Define Your Target Audience: For any marketing campaign, including SEM marketing, you need to understand your target audience to get better results. Therefore, you need to know the demographics, interests, and online behavior of your target audience. Specify the geographical areas you wish to target, whether it's a particular country or city

Keyword Research: Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify the most relevant keywords for your marketing campaign. You will have to target keywords that will help your website show up in the paid search results. Tools like Google AdWords Keyword Planner can help.

Create Ad: Create ad groups to organize your keywords based on their relevance to your website and your target audience. Write a concise, compelling copy that integrates your chosen keywords and highlights the benefits of your product or service.

Budget Allocation: Decide how much you want to pay per click, and how many days, weeks, or months you want your campaign to run. The average cost per click is $2 on Google search. The higher your budget for clicks, the higher your chances of appearing on paid search results

Regular Monitoring and Adjustments: Continuously monitor your campaign's performance and make adjustments as necessary.

These are just basic steps for launching a Search Engine Marketing campaign. You will have to explore more and find out how you can drive targeted traffic to your website and achieve your marketing goals through search engine marketing.
