Hello everyone,

Recently I just purchased a unmanaged VPS. I'm hosting a Teamspeak 3 server, Apache, with PHP etc.

I understand that backing up is different for every version of Linux, but I'm just wondering the best method to make sure if I move or have a server crash I can just restore and not have to reinstall PHP & Apache and change the configurations again.

I would be saving the backups to my local computer (No remote backup server yet).

I've done some searching but it seems like there are so many bad methods and I cannot find any GOOD straight forward explanations.

OpenVZ (Container)
CentOS 6.3 (Final) - OS

Thank you for your time!

I think many hosting providers have this facility inbuilt to restore the data, but some may charge extra for the same. I suggest inquire with your hosting provider about the same.
