Retail or Fast Food

What type of environment would you rather work in?

I would have to go for retail, even if I despise it at times. I'm pretty acquainted with the environment in different retail stores and I usually get complimented in the retail business for doing a good job.

I guess fast food, maybe? I'd suck at dealing with irate customers, and fast food seems like it'd have a little less of that.

Neither... I worked TOO long and TOO hard to develop my IT chops... so there is NO way I'd work in such an environment. I enjoy my retired life to much, and the ONLY way I'd go back to "work" is in the IT field at the going rate I was charging when I retired out of it for free-lancing.

I worked retail many years ago, that was bad enough - cannot imagine fast food.

I can chow down on some of Walmart's deli food like the popcorn chicken, potato wedges, etc. I'd prefer that over fast food, but wish you could order that for delivery via Walmart+.

As much as both jobs seem like they are very stressful, I feel that is the case with most jobs nowadays, to be honest as there is always a high demand for any job you are in. Personally out of fast food and retail, I would prefer to work in retail as I feel even though you can succumb to abuse even in retail, it's not as bad as what I have seen targeted at people who work in fast food joints. I feel the retail environment would be better for me if those were the two options I had.

Retail is technically what I do anyway, so yes I would prefer that. My other half used to work for McDonald's and the stories I've heard are enough to put me off.

Fast Food..
it's so much more fun and you get to meet and chat to all kinds of people and build a relationship with them and in retail everything so rushed lol

If I had to do either I think retail. I don't think I would like to work fast food. I could imagine working in a book store at least
