Renew domain

I do everything on NameCheap.I will renew my domains a month prior to them expiring. So I only deal with it once a year. I have it written in my planner so I won't forget and the site also e-mails me a month prior as a friendly reminder.

I think that having that feature set to auto renew if you are very serious about the website is very necessary because you if you are serious about hosting a website then you may be tasked with so many other things on the site that this may slip your mind and therefore i think that it is imperative to keep it going even when you do not think of renewing it and auto renew is one less thing to worry about. I would opt for that.

I got my website domain from the same hosting website. It's easier to integrate them. I kept auto-renewal for my domain as well as hosting. I usually get a reminder mail a week before that and they automatically debit cash and would renew my subscription. It's very easy and efficient. Helps my website run smoother without any issues.

As a debit order it can make it very easy to do so especially if you are doing if from a reputable website as well. However for me, if i am not sure of a website then i tend to rather go from a month to month basis, however this does not offer teh same discounts.

Who do you use to renew your website domain? Is it your web host provider, or do you have a separate service for your domain? Have you got your domain to set to Auto Renewal each billing period so you don't forget and somebody else takes the domain up for grabs?
Sure, i use different providers for my domains. I have some on Namesilo and others on Namecheap. I just grabbed a few recently on Godaddy.
I also set them on auto-renewal. What i do is to top up the domain accounts bi-annually with some cash. Or just when i have some amount to spare. I treat them as future investment opportunity.

All my domains go through NameCheap so I just keep renewing them there. I will get notified prior to it running out and renew them each year.

It depends on what you're using the domain for. If you are using the domain for blog or project, it's best to put it in automatic renewal. Also if the domain is so valuable that you don't want to lose it, automatic renewal is the best. But if it's a domain you just try to see if you can resell it, then no need to put it at automatic renewal. When it's due for renewal, you got to the registrar to renew it manually.

I use my host for domain name renewal and I have it set up to renew automatically. But I received an email stating I would lose my domain if I didn't pay right away, so that scared me and I went and paid. Then came the automatic renewal as well and I ended up paying twice. I think they need to shut off those emails for people who have automatic renewal. I got a refund though!

I generally use different services for hosting and domain name purchase but like you pointed out, I've always ensured to renew the domain plans automatically so they don't expire and someone else picks it up.

I currently don't own a website domain. If i had one, i guess i would renew it with my web host provider instead of making use of another separate service for the domain.

My web host and the domain registrar are the same company. I have never use used different companies for the same kind of services. It is easier to manage of you use the same company.
