Some of us may be too young for this, but back probably in the 90s or 80s, there was a nationwide worry about people potentially putting harmful things in Halloween candy, as in they would put a razer blade in a milky way, or they would put poison or some other crazy stuff. Of course this at the time was just overblown speculation and over-worrying by parents. I don't even think there was any candy given out that was tampered with.

Were you ever told by your parents to keep a look out for this sort of thing? I remember them telling me not to accept candy in a regular plastic bag, as it could be tampered with. Did this happen to you as a kid?

We lived in a very decent neighbourhood. It was more like everyone was very familiar with one another. So, getting candies from other families during Halloween doesn't breed any forum of suspicions. I have never been asked by my parents to be weary of poison, blade or any harmful objects.
