Do you think it's a good idea to purchase too many domain names for a single website? We can set-up domain forwarding to the main domain name. It can help you in dealing with the future competitors but it's a bit expensive too.

I have two domains for a single website and I have been thinking of getting rid of the secondary domain name(ending with .com) and renewing only the .net domain name. However, I can't make the decision just yet. So, what do you guys think?

Do you think I need to renew my other domain name as well? Or would it be a good idea to let it expire?

It is better to buy domain name protection instead of purchasing multiple domain. Someone could for example purchase bizdustry biz or bizdustry net or bizdustry xyz so admin owner could prevent registrations with same domain name with different extension instead of buying multiple domain name and you will earn nothing as there are various extension.

To be honest, I don't know what that is. I did try to search in Google about domain name protection but the results are all about domain privacy protection.

Is there really a way to prevent others from getting our domain name using some other extension? If that's the case, it would help people a lot in protecting their reputation without having to pay too much.

Could you please let me know more about it or guide me where I can find more info on this? I don't see any relevant hits so far in my search, so I had to approach you again for this. Sorry if this seems like an unreasonable request. Kindly ignore if it will take too much of your time and thank you so much for sharing this information. I will try to get more information on this somehow.

Well if your site name isn't easy to remember and there's always mistakes in typing the address, then you can purchase a domain name with the wrong address and redirect. I've seen people do this.

If you feel like people may mistype your domain, it may be worth it just for the redirects but most people go to websites via bookmarks or search engines so it doesn't make that big of a difference anymore.

I don't really have a lot of knowledge on domains and so i don't know if it is a good idea to purchase many domains for a single website. It doesn't seem like a good idea though.

I do not believe that there can ever be too many domains unless if they are not relevant. A majority of people are going to find your website through search and I said you have to take it serious.

Using Multiple domains for the same website can confuse search engines and dilute your web authority. This ranking factor sends a clear message to Google about what you do and how authoritarian you are. You won't be as valuable on Google, Bing, and other search engines using more than one domain. In addition, customers won't know what domain name to enter to find your website; it's not visible to them either. Domain names should be singular, unequivocal, .com-centric, and unchanging to be adequate for SEO purposes. How important is your domain name for SEO? It's not so simple! Considering all these things, if multiple domains benefit you, then you can purchase them.

Link more than a website to laravel databse with mongodb will be unsecure also same VPS and same reverse proxy will let chance of having your workspace compromised so it is possible but has negative and bad impacts on the level of security of your VPS.

this is very good for your brand as some people might set up look alike domain to snatch some of your customers, so building a domain that can redirect your customers to your main site is a welcome idea.

Unless you are big companies that give a lot of preference to a brand name, there is no need to buy multiple domains for your website. What is the point of buying dot net, net org, dot info, etc. variations of extension when you already have dot com?
