Does your site have private advertisers? How did you manage to get them or did they contact you? Do you think they're more valuable than having adsense on a site?

You would want to pm the owner of the site with the amount you are willing to pay and for the length of time you want the ad to be up :)

If you want to get a discount, or want to find out the prices of a private ad- you may not want to reveal your hand to early. If there are spare ad spots- forum owners would be willing to give them pretty cheap.

I used to get text link ads for a few of my websites.
For like 5 to 10USD per month.
They contact through the contact form in the website or through the email id from the who is database!

$5-$10 isn't bad, pretty decent actually. I've seen a really good advertiser idea though. Basically a box of tiny favricon sized icons. You could charge a few dollars for each one for a month and you could have 10-20 of them.

$1 - 1 year, SOLD! :D haha.
But Seriously interested in the top box, So if someone has worked out a price, Let me know. Say 1 Month for now. With option to extend :)

Regards,
Brendan

Sure Brendan! Wow, our first potential private advertiser! I'll talk over a fair price with xpl0iter and get back to you ASAP.

It depend upon the traffic you are receiving and also the niche ..if your niche fits well for a private advertiser then you can easily earn nice income per month..

Exactly, some niches are not going to get many private advertisers. Although you'd be surprised, most niches will get them. There was a very small chess forum that had a private advertiser. Unfortunately the owner wasn't dedicated enough and gave up when he wasn't getting the number of posts he was after.

I do think private advertising is the best way to go for most niche sites. When I ran a forum on a hobby, I got some local businesses to pay for some ads - it worked out great, and there was word of mouth going around! Private advertisers will pay a much better premium than general Google ads, which only earn you pennies and you need thousands of pageviews just to earn even a few dollars.

I do not have private advertisers, I have never been approached by any individuals and business for advertising on my site. I have tried to sell ad space on my site through ad marketplaces like buy sell ads and ad clerks bit have not been approved for these marketplaces due to low traffic. The only advertising that works for me is Adsense
