It doesn't happen very often but when it does, it can leave somewhat of a sour taste in your mouth finding a moderator on a forum who has let the power go to their head and treats members as though they are something that should worship the ground they walk on. Unfortunately when you have moderators that are like this, if it goes unnoticed by the owner of the forum, it can lead to people leaving the forum and not wanting to come back.

Have you ever come across a forum where a moderator has let the power go to their head? Was it your forum or someone else's and how did it make you feel when this happened?

I have posted on a lot of forums. I have been regularly posting since 2015 and you can imagine how many forums I have posted on. However, I had just one bad experience with a moderator. He was a troll.

There is a site called nairaland. The mods there are really something else. They can give you a ban for 99 years from a particular section. I have been banned for 2 years from commenting on a particular section.

Yes, some people become rude after gaining some sort of power or authority over others. This is the weakness commonly found in human nature.

In any forum community, such rude moderators hurt others' feelings.

I think constructive criticism is necessary and must be accepted maturely.

I can't believe that this thing even exists. Glad I have not encountered one yet. How could they feel such an ego stroke by just managing a forum, I just can't get it.

I've actually posted on a couple dozen forums in my life, but I haven't yet come across an admin that I consider rude or overbearing so to speak, so I've only had good experiences so far., everyone should treat everyone with respect because it is what we expect from others, if something like this happened I think I would leave the forum.
