Positive advice from a sports coach?

I have heard them say rise early, practice daily and push your limits. I think this holds good for any endeavor.
 
The advice which my swimming coach gave me was to take every training lessons very serious like it's my first day training. According to him, what makes you a great swimmer is how much you've been able to perfect your swimming skills and there's no ending to how good you can get if you keep practicing every time.

When it comes to being very good in sports, you have to take practicing and training very serious. You should hit the gym frequently to build on your strength. Without being good with your practice, there's no way you're going to be on top playing performance.
 
When I had a sports coach, when I visited the football section, he didn't say much because he wasn't really a very cool specialist because we lost most of the matches and he couldn't group the team, but he taught me a lot in the future thanks to such simple tips as hit the ball better, I started to play better
