Do you think having polls create or encourage more engagement for members/users? Do you try to have a variety of topics/polls on your forum? Do you notice more responses/activity on these types of topics compared to a typical thread?

I believe that the nature of the topic which those polls are created in communities is what is going to determine if they are going to be engaging because if it is just a poll that people wouldn't even have much to engage in the discussion, they will simply vote and that will be the end of the discussion. Creativity needs to be added when topics for polls are created, so that it is going to be something that we encourage members to contribute much on it.

I think polls improve user engagement on sites, including forums, blogs, and even social media pages. Having polls in your website will improve user retention and thus reduce bounce rate. However, you need to ask general interest questions in your pols instead of sensitive issues.

I have come to find out that in most forums where they have options to add polls to a discussion and they have a crediting system in the forum, poll contents usually pay more forum currency unlike the regular threads discussions.

Polls work great if you are a content creator on Twitch, and get so many more people voting. Polls are like 50/50 for me chance it gets people voting but not enough most are not big, depending on what's the topic and what polls are about.

Last poll was an idea for a suggestion to add to the site, a Yes or No option.
