Very nice for an IPS site... you are leveraging many of the features/functions that they offer.
You really need to adjust for your landing page if you aren't offering ads to dump that section

One thing that I don't know if is because I'm not logged in.. your articles have no discussion displayed (or they don't exist yet perhaps?)
I personally would edit the landing page so it showed the most recent articles, and also the most recent forum postings.

Overall, a very nice implementation using IPS.

Thanks for the positive review and feedback! That ad spot is only there for guests, but Adsense has been terrible at not loading an ad on a user's first visit. I have honestly been unable to track down why that is as every side says it is not their side causing it. I really want to find a general banner ad service that doesn't need user data or scripts to run, but this is the world we live in.

You are correct on the article discussions, only recently have they started to get discussions and I do agree on topics on the home page, but still thinking about the best way to do so.
