phpBB

I have a lot of affection for both Invision and phpBB, as phpBB was the first software I used to make a website (about 16 years ago now). As a software, it's now very dated and was never all that expansive to begin with, but I'll always fondly remember it.

I personally love it. Pretty much the only software I’ve used. Used myBB very briefly. its super easy to use.

I remember using phpbb back when I first started creating forums in 2004/2005 and as much as I was able to use the software as an admin, the one thing that put me off at the time was how you installed the addons and the themes. One mistake when adding code to the forum for an addon and you could break everything.

I moved away from phpbb as soon as I could and moved to MyBB before moving to vBulletin and then to Xenforo.

Yeah I remember adding mods that way. Thankfully it’s much easier now. Just install it and your good.

I did hear that it was a lot easier now to install them, I haven't used phpbb since way back then when I was using it but I am curious so may install it one time and just give it a look to see how it is now :)
