With your smartphone, have you ever had to the battery replaced? On iPhones atleast, if you go into Settings then Battery Capacity Apple and other leading technology companies suggest you have your battery replaced once it goes below 80%, or starts to swell and enlarge causing the back case to open up. Have you ever had to get a replacement battery for your mobile phone?
