Paid Mods vs Free Mods

Are the free mods on free forum software as good as the paid mods for premium software? How would you compare them? Do you feel that the premium mods in conjunction with paid software are a rip-off or at least money wasted? Well, I mean, I'm sure the paid mods are excellent, but why pay when the same thing is free?

I use free forum software, I use free themes, and I also use free mods. I have never used any paid mods. I avoid using paid mods because I do not like to increase my website running cost By keeping my cost low, I am able to run my forums even when I am not earning fom forums.

I have in the past used free mods and paid mods and have been happy with both. If you are looking for something specific and something that is quite extensive for a mod for a forum, you would usually be looking to pay for it unless someone is willing to create one for free which is very rare.

For the basic mods though for forums, most are free and you are not always forced to pay for mods if you do not wish to.

I tend to look at what I want to see on my forum and what I want to offer on my forum and once I know, I plan things out and see if any of it would consist of paid mods if it does I tend to then save up so that I can eventually bring that to the forum rather than trying to get everything at once.
