Have you ever got an online job or freelance work? What was it for? Did you enjoy it?

Yeah I have tried odesk. It was boring like hell and earning very less. So I never tried it again.

What sort of tasks were you asked to do? And how much were you paid per task?

All of them were data entry.
One job was like this.
Get data from different bar/hotel websites and then check it with their db if all of them were correct.

And I guess I was getting like 1USD per hour. Then 2 or 3 fixed projects by which I earned like 100USD in total.

$1 per hour is pretty poor. I suppose I've earned less online But still.... that's why countries have minimum wages. But you can't police the internet.

I do freelance article work for people if that counts.

I make a living from this. I work on Elance and also have clients of my own who help pay the bills

I have heard Elance is better than ODesk!

I've done both, online paid work and online freelance. Currently, I work as a customer support rep for several companies, and am a support administrator for a new social network.

I used to do freelance work on forums for some friends while running my own forum, and it was fun that I almost felt bad for getting paid.

This post was created in 2012 and that was the year when I started writing for a lot of online platforms like Helium, Hubpages, Squidoo, etc. I am still with Hubpages. After writing on various sites for two years, I joined oDesk in 2014 to find online jobs, mostly related to writing . oDesk later rebranded to upwork.

I have done a couple of online jobs for my clients. However, what always make me happy is when I was able to have a client rehire me again after completing a job for them. Working online can never be easy, but I have found it to be engaging and a good way to learn more about different topics.
