Offshore Hosting

Have you ever used offshore hosting to host your websites? If you have did you get decent support from their tech team? I've heard stories about many offshore hosts having bad support, and slow speeds even. If you have used offshore hosting, is this true? I have also heard that offshore hosting can be expensive though too. I used a post to host offshore host once in the past, but I don't believe the company is around anymore.

I am based in Nepal. My host is based in the US, I use US based data center. I guess I am already using offshore hosting. I have not encountered any problems.

I remember when I first started out with forums I was using offshore hosting. At first, it was fine and I didn't have many issues with it but the longer I was with the company the more things started to show through. I remember a moderator I had on my forum at the time, his son had a look into things for me as we were suffering a lot of slow loading and a lot of downtimes and it turned out I was sharing a server with over 200 other people. No prizes for guessing what was causing my issues. I eventually moved to more dedicated hosting and things were a lot smoother from then until I had to let it go due to hosting prices increasing and I was no longer able to afford the price.
